BASE
FLOOR 1 FLOOR 2 FLOOR 3 The base URSULA created with the last of her resources has improved with work, but there is more to be done. Luckily, characters will be able to build it up, expand it, change it, and make it their own. Lead Architect Annabeth Chase has requested that people contact her so she can place new rooms in sensible places. The base currently has five observatories, a main entrance, kitchen, small laundry room, dining area, an interlocking set of three lab rooms, a med bay/rest area, a toilet room, a hot springs, a shower room, a library, and five 'free' rooms. Narrow tube-like hallways connect most of the rooms in a solid web. Some of the halls are made of glass, allowing one to see the ocean outside as they walk. Most rooms also have windows and glass dome ceilings, except for the kitchen and the five free rooms. The free rooms are stacked together in the center with one or two large windows to let in light and ladders to climb between levels. In addition, there are multiple private rooms made by characters for their own use. These rooms are print-locked to the owner's DNA (or other method they prefer) and those they allow in. Characters may sleep wherever they want using the air beds they are given. The empty rooms can fit roughly ten beds per room while other areas can be slept in if characters really want. Players have made a ROOMING SPREADSHEET to keep track of claims on any rooms, including those rooms that are privately locked to characters. Players can PM the mods to request their character be RNGed into a room: this would take the IC form of URSULA suggesting a room. However, she will never force anyone to sleep where they don't wish. Feel free to add your character in and change their location or other notes at your discretion. At night, the bioluminescent creatures and plants provide flickering light in the darkness. At the main entrance, there are a number of small wall lockers that can be labelled with a character's name if they desire and used to store their air mattress, wetsuit, goggles, and breather device, as well as any other items that they have in their possession. Lockers also can be DNA locked. Several efforts have been made to make the base more homey. Characters have made it less sterile with shiny things, books, toys, board games, and other kinds of sprucing up. Two Reaper mandibles also sit outside the main entrance to the base. Thanks to September's base rebuilding, the hallways are high-ceilinged arches-and-columns combinations, except underwater. The open-air spaces between the columns on the hallway sides are reinforced glass, with metal storm shutters that can be engaged outside the glass in the event of storms. The rooms are primarily circular, with the same columns/arches/glass combination. When building upwards, there is a stone floor between the two units so they are simply stacked on top of one another. There is a set of stairs on either end of the base; the stairs are stone winding around a stone platform at each level which can have chairs or something to chill in. The main entry room has an entrance on each of the three levels with stairs in that room. |
KITCHEN
The kitchen is a room consisting of a circular module in the center with several large lockers lining the wall for pantry space if needed. A drop-down ceiling element also has cupboards, a fan and lights. It has most of the usual features for a kitchen, including a small fridge, freezer, electric oven, stove top, tabletops that function as cutting boards, a deep sink and a small microwave. The cupboards have items a kitchen might need, like silverware, cups, plates, pots, pans, bowls and so forth. The kitchen now has a toaster, a food processor, a coffee maker with appropriate tools, and a blender.
DINING AREA
The dining area is a room directly off from the kitchen that consists of four pods. Simply tapping one of the pods will cause it to open, seating six people per table with a cylindrical light in the center that turns on for evening meals. Cloth napkins are stored in a small compartment under the seating and expected to be washed after use. Dishes also do not do themselves, nor do the pods self-clean, so please be mindful when you eat. There is a sign here that reads "THE CORAL STOPS HERE."
MATERIAL STORAGE
The Material Storage is divided between the Laboratory and the Entrance. At the Entrance, it is simply small lockers that can be DNA locked using a thumbprint. These lockers can store possessions, though anything larger than three feet will need to be stored elsewhere. These are personal lockers. The Larger Lockers are used to store metals, samples, salvage and other things found at sea. They can also be used for personal items if you wish, though URSULA won't approve. The larger lockers can be found in the Laboratory, though one can be found in each of the free rooms as well. The lab now contains multiple medikits and a centrifuge. |
LABORATORIES
The laboratories are now three interlocking rooms. The main lab has an aquarium on one side already contains several species of fish, which can be studied, eaten or watched for enjoyment. A farming area has several plants growing, though they're only different spices at the moment. It also contains soil samples and more fish samples. Three Scanner devices are hung on the wall and can be used to analyze species and other objects out in the wild. The best feature of the lab is the water filtration machine, which provides fresh bottled water from the sea water outside. It can be changed to produce bleach instead but please remember to flip the switch back when you're done. Bleach can be lethal to several species. The two other rooms are attached to the central lab. One is devoted to technological work, containing a holographic deck and a map of what the crew has currently explored, including maps of the Floater Island cave systems. The other room is set up for genetics and biology and contains a second aquarium that has a flow system into the ocean so that water doesn't need to be changed. PROJECTS » A Tiger Plant has been brought to the lab! It will occasionally still try to fire needles at people. It's in a tank so it doesn't do any good but it is a very angry plant apparently. Watch out! » A record of all messages found on salvage missions is kept in the lab for reference.
SHOWER ROOM
The shower room is not quite a bathroom so much as an observatory that URSULA repurposed after realising most species need something. It has been carefully modified so that six pod-like showers are located throughout because you really shouldn't have expected someone who thought a glass dome makes a good bathroom to think about privacy. That said, curtains have been added around the showers, patterned with horses, records, hats, Legend of Zelda Navi-like fireflies, and Geromy (from Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff) . Fresh water is pumped in for the shower, while waste from the toilet is reused in other areas of the base. The fresh water in the showers can now run for any amount of time, but they start off cold. All the cleaning products smell like seaweed.
OBSERVATORIES
The Observatories are peaceful places that jut out into the ocean. Made entirely of glass, they allow one to view the surrounding sealife without disturbing them. Most sea creatures don't even seem to take notice of the observatories at all. They work well for making notes on how marine life acts naturally or just as places to try to unwind. At night, you can watch the light show outside. URSULA occasionally plays music in the observatories, making them less silent than the rest of the base. |
AQUARIUM
A modified observatory, currently home to a rare Cute Fish named Magister Snoop Dogg, who will 'fist bump' the glass wall when anyone passes by, as well as several Rabbitray friends. The aquarium fish are strictly off-limits for feeding. URSULA will warn anyone off harming the fish, though she encourages kindness towards them. The tank has been extended throughout the base so that fish can roam freely throughout the rooms.
FARM
Protected under a glass dome, a farm is in progress three miles from the base. It is protected on all sides by rocky terrain and reinforced against damage. The farm's crops currently include apples, oranges, tea, apples, potatoes, carrots, apples, plants from Floater Island, bananas, tomatoes, apples, wheat, rice, broccoli, and apples. These crops are organized very badly. The farm is guarded by two robotic horses (Rapplejack and Rainbro Dash) who are armed with propulsion cannon technology. Robot Santa weeds the garden.
MED BAY/REST AREA
The med bay is designed with rest and recovery in mind. Shuttered for privacy, it has a full range of medical equipment for patients. PDAs take blood samples along with symptoms and analyze for the specific ailment to speed up treatment. These are especially useful for someone prone to sickness to help eliminate causes as they change and focus on what is needed. They also have settings to monitor vitals and other basic needs a medical doctor would need to know. Most medical imaging tools are handhold, and syringes function less 'invasively.' Nanomachine prototypes are also contained in capsules. They spend one week in the body helping it fight any infections and other common ailments before dying and breaking down naturally. They can be taken regularly to help weak immune systems. This medical bay can also function as a quiet resting area where people can go for some peace and quiet when no one is using it for medical assistance. Music does not play here, so crew will have to bring their own. Use headphones! The med bay is now pink and has a toscope, a nebulizer, a blood infusion set, a weight scale with height measuring tool, some equipment for checking eyesight and a burn first aid kit, and a farming rack for healing plants. It also has two sleeping/healing pods taken from the Monolith to restore or preserve injured crew. |
LIBRARY
One of the observatories has been converted to a library, containing two large plush chairs stolen from the Aurora and three handmade wooden shelves, which are filled with books, medical charts, and other reading materials. It also has assorted writing materials, including traditional items like pens, pencils, and notebooks, along with two calligraphy sets, watercolors, digital writing pads, and playlists of musicals and classical music that someone from the Aurora put together with a compact, portable stereo system. This artwork decorates the room in a gold frame.
TOILET ROOM
The crew has created a room for toilets to try to avoid so many terrible toilet traffic jams. With twelve toilets, all divided off by curtains and each with its own sink, these toilets carefully dispose of waste and do not require standing in the middle of a ring of showers.
HOT SPRINGS
The indoor hot springs attach to the shower room and are entered through a wooden door behind the standard lock. Wooden dividers separate the area into two sides, and the hot springs is decorated with rocks and coral from around the base. It is also painted pink and has several wooden buckets around. |
MURAL
A wall mural added to the library. Flowers are planted for each crew member who goes missing. Underneath the mural is a name plate that rotates slowly between the names of the missing.
ENTERTAINMENT
The base’s entertainment room holds URSULA’s old projection screen she uses for movie nights and a droid that can be used as a proxy between the gaming systems and the projector. It is also be a good place to store the board games, cards and any cushy furniture.

ISLAND
A terraformed construction surrounding the underwater base and the eventual home of the island base. The little towers are currently under construction as watchtowers. Starting from the bottom left corner watchtower and working around the island clockwise, they are called as follows: 1 (URSULA), 2 (Grace), 3 (Castellan), 4 (Poseidon), 5 (Frey), 6 (Hephaestus), 7 (Artemis), and 8 (Dionysus). The lakes are freshwater to provide a stable source of drinking water outside the filtration. Work is also being done to develop the farmland based on the initial underwater farm. A large barn has been made on the base island. As of now, it is home to Zelda's Loftwing, but over time it possibly can be expanded if more pets who may not be comfortable living in an underwater base are introduced. Several packs of wild Tinkerbulls roam the island. |

TOOLS
We all need to move and work! Generally speaking, basic diving equipment, along with URSULA's genetic modifications, are enough to let those who know how to swim get around. There are, however, hazards to that kind of travel, and characters have to work and develop to build other modes of transportation. All transports here were made by characters, with more to be to be added as they choose to build them! Building transportation requires salvaging and engineering, and keeping one requires maintenance. Transportation can be damaged or even destroyed, so be careful with your rentals! Tools such as weapons or robotic suits will also help the crew. Like transportation, the materials for these have to be salvaged and must be either designed by crew from scratch or built based off of salvaged blueprints. The base currently has an entire cache of assorted guns, several super heated bladed weapons, clothing with blades hidden in almost every possible outlet, vials of what seem to be various poisons, mysterious unmarked tablets and three pineapple-sized bombs with timers. In addition, there are various guns and knives and several poisons developed by the crew using Rabbit Ray venom, Crash powder, and Gasopod poison. The base now has a weaponized sound cannon that can damage and disorientate a Reaper while causing it pain. More require finding diamonds. All water vehicles have been outfitted with specialized, high-strength nets that allow them to drag or catch materials outside of the vehicle itself. |
SEAMOTH
A rugged submersible! The base currently has two Seamoths. Both are non-weaponized. One seats two people, and the other seats three. The Seamoth design has a top forward speed of 25 Knots, making it ideal for quickly moving around. It requires energy to move, and it has not been reinforced, so it could be damaged if mishandled.
SEAGLIDES
Travel the open seas! The base currently has three Seaglides. These single-person transports travel at 18.5 Knots (no slow means!), but they offer no protection and cannot replenish oxygen. What they sacrifice in shelter, they make up in depth, as the Seaglides can go as deep as a diver can without coming to any harm.
BLUEPRINTS
Crew are free to design and build anything they want but URSULA has an archive of blueprints that can help this task. Any blueprints recovered are added to this database for reference. DISCOVERED » Manatee: high-depth exploration vessel » Slim Suit: fast and temperature resistant with moderate boosters for speed » Transfuser: genetic manipulator » Stasis Rifle: freezing gun » High Pressure Suits: good for deep-sea diving » Propulsion Cannon: attract and repels objects » Fabricator: Currently makes literal fabrics » Solar Panel: energy source » Cyclops: deep exploration submersible » Silver Fish: mid-range multi-person submersible » Microbe scanner: a portable microscope and database that can better identify living tissues in items you examine. Important to bring to new biomes for health. » weapons blueprints: 1 | 2 | 3 | 5 | 6 |
DRONES
URSULA uses drones as a means to interact with others and allows crew to modify or manipulate them. They can be programmed to function uniquely though she requests that their AIs aren't developed too far. Several aquatic drones armed with crash powder cannons have been deployed outside the base to act as an early warning system for the crew. They sing when delivering reports and will Songify your orders to them. The base drones have all been modified to learn since everyone was getting sick of not-tea. Now they will respond to feedback and do their best to improve every time you correct them. Of course they're still limited by resources but at least they improve on their attempts. The base has four exterior scouting drones and one deep sea diving drone. In addition, URSULA now has several personal drones that explore the base. They like getting hugs.
ROBOTIC DIVING SUITS
Robotic diving suits allow divers to explore water that the standard suits prevent them from reaching. Several have been recovered from the Aurora and others can be built. SUITS » Mersuit: An odd suit equipped with a retractable spear. When booted up, its male-voiced AI asks, "Ready for a fucking adventure, Todd?" » Gorrilaz Suit: For high pressure and extreme temperatures, female-voiced AI. » Aqua Mech: For high pressure and extreme temperatures, female-voiced AI.
SHELL SUB MK II
Currently the largest submarine attached to the base. The Shell Sub Mk II is weaponized with torpedoes and bombs. It has space for storage of salvage and diving suits and can seat six people comfortably, although it could fit nine if everyone is willing to squeeze together. |
THE NAUTILIUS
A deep-sea submarine capable of handling high pressure and the heat from the lava vents. It carries a maximum of fifteen people and has invisibility capabilities from both magical and technological sources. It is also equipped to detect life signs and has a sound cannon for confusing and Reapers.
JET SKIS
A total of five. They can dive underwater and travel as long as a user can hold their breath. They also glide under water. They can't take deep water pressure. |
