To answer your question, I know and understand things through observation. So for example I have knowledge of your food preferences so far, your relationships with the other crew members, your love of your adorable dog... Oh, yes, I thought it was interesting that you have lock picks. Is something the matter?

Before I came here, I was... unable to touch anyone. If I did, the contact was poisonous and usually lethal to them, and my blood is still that way.

... But Tytree was able to touch me without getting hurt. I'm not sure why... or if it's only temporary.

I see... There have been reports of strange incidents in the past. I do recall a crew member saying his immortality seemed to wax and wane. I didn't think anything of it at the time. I thought he was just worrying over nothing. But it's what inspired me to make the nanomachines and develop them as a failsafe.

I do have a theory. I have to tell you first that I don't spend very long awake sometimes. Once there's no one here, I go into a hibernation mode to conserve energy. But while I'm awake... I do take careful observations of the planet.

I believe it adheres to something that humanity once considered called Gaia Theory. It's the theory that the planet is like a body fighting infections, namely humanity itself, with antibodies, in the case of the theory meaning diseases. But in our case, I wondered if it was fighting us with these odd discrepancies between crew members and their abilities or their bodies. I'm not sure what it means for us if it were true, though...

What I mean is can you imagine if it were killing anything that lands here? The thought is terrifying. I want to keep you all safe. I should have looked into this sooner but... I thought I was overreacting, since everyone was alive and seemed safe.

Oh, I apologize for rambling. I hope I didn't scare you. I think you're all stronger than any crew I've had. I'm sure you're safe. I just worry about you all.
