URSULA is usually available for brief contact. Consider this her inbox. Although she may be busy ICly doing something at the time, she can usually spare some time to answer something.

Alternately, you can link to a thread where she is being called upon. Note that she may ignore these calls or contacts dependent on her mood. Don't worry if she ignores you once or twice, as she will sometimes comment on open posts or make broadcasts to everyone.

Please label the day and time of the contact in the subject header.

For those curious, her voice sounds similar to this.

If any players wish to contact Naoko and her group, they are free to use this page. They will have to take the three hour trip by air or sea as there is currently no long-range communication in place for them. Please specify in the header that it is Naoko you are trying to reach and not URSULA, in this case, as well as labeling the date you are contacting the group.

[He starts looking through the documents. When she makes her offer, he looks up from his document. If she's in sleep mode, she won't be witness to his falsifications.

[He fills out the form studiously. He shouldn't have to back up the identity very far, and he assumes URSULA will deliberately not look at the sections that should be false by necessity. It doesn't really feel like dishonesty in terms of setting out his qualifications. He does, after all, have more experience than most, and he's already worked extensively with AIs in salvaging situations.

He waits a few extra moments after inserting all the data. Then he wakes up URSULA.]

They only told me there was a marker so no one would forget. I guess they didn't plan to leave me alone. I do know my servers would take up two rooms on this base, so we really don't have room for them here.

Yes it would, Dirk! You are authorized to transfer me to any device you choose. Am I going to live on your face? That seems uncomfortable for both of us.

I have one more question. Is there any position that would override mine in terms of authority to command you?

There are three positions: Systems Operator, Captain and Commanding or Acting Captain. In order, it goes Captain, Commanding or Acting Captain and Systems Operator.

Okay, is it possible for me to apply for the position of Captain?

[He would be a terrible captain, but if the Aurora Captain turns up alive somewhere he is not letting 'em at URSULA. He can just refuse to do anything with the position ever.

I'm not sure anyone necessarily has the qualifications... But I think in some terms, Sorey and Mikleo would be good co-captains.

[Dirk is pretty sure URSULA just implied that pretty much the entire crew is unsuitable. Wow. But she prefers her ship in charge of the ship.

His shoulders shrug up a fraction and he lets it go.]

It might not come to that. [Because hopefully the Captain is dead.]

One more question. An AI called ISHMAEL has come up a few times in recordings left behind by Aurora crew members. Do you know anything about it?

Oh! ISHMAEL! He's supposed to be amazing in terms of replicating human behavior perfectly and exceeding human capacities. To the rest of us, he's something of an idol. He's a military AI though, so he isn't like me. If he was on board, that makes it a military issue.

[Dirk is silent for a moment. Then he nods.]
