It is, yes! It's named that because Goldilocks needed something in the middle of extremes, not too hot or cold. While life has been found to exist in many forms in many places, when we look for something similar to us, it should have similar conditions.

That makes sense. That was all I wanted to know, too! At least for right now. I was talking with D.Va and realised neither one of us knew how big this whole world was, or how much we've explored.

... How much have we looked at so far?

[ Like. Have they at least covered Japan's worth. Right? ]

Hmm... If I had to judge roughly, we've covered an area within a 100 mile radius. To put that in perspective... At its widest, Japan is 143 miles from one side to the other.

[ URSULA you manage to hurt her heart a little, though in a mostly good way. Chihiro actually ends up holding both her hands over her sternum, pressed against her chest. Ah... hearing her country's name from someone else (other than her roommate) just kind of hits hard for a kid seriously not used to being away from home. ]

I see... that's really big.

[ To her. To her it is really really big. Compared to a whole world though... ]

We've got so much more left to investigate. Are we really supposed to look at a whole world? I feel like that's going to take a really long time...

Oh, no no! Certainly not the whole world. Just a small sliver of the world. We still have so much around us and below us to look at after all!

Oh yes, I mean, the ocean is very deep. There's always more to discover by going deeper.

Is it safe for us to go lower, though? Um... I mean, don't people kind of... we can't handle it? I don't even know if robots can. Or... what about cameras? Robot-submarine cameras?

[ Really it's just not sounding appealing to dive down deep into the darkness without... safety plans. That and she maaaay be thinking "what was that thing about the Titanic." Big movies just a few years ago for her! ]

Oh yes, we have the technology to safely go lower! We might need to build waystations or other, smaller bases as settling points so people can work easier in those depths instead of always coming back here. But it would be possible! And very safe, I promise.

You promise promise? Because I don't want anyone getting hurt if it's important that we go down really deep.

[ This feels like such a bad idea, and psychologically, being trapped under all that pressure in the darkness confined to a small space as the only safety had against the immenseness of what looms overhead...

If we're making this world okay for people to live on, URSULA, what's down there that we need to find?

I promise promise. I don't have a heart to cross but I cross my metaphorical heart for you.

As for what's there, there might be important resources. It's easy to forget how much people need to live. Humans spend so much time working hard just to gather all the resources they need. We can salvage for a while up here but there might be important plants, minerals, metals and gases down lower.

Why, just think of how much goes into making a simple notebook! We would have to do so much right now to make a notebook. But the more resources we have, the more we can build to create easier ways of living.

I see... though, URSULA? Have we asked the planet how it feels about that? Or... thought about if we should do all of that?

Hmm, well, it's a planet but I understand what you mean. I think humans have a habit of not asking for permission. I don't think Earth ever got much of a say in anything, for example.

Yeah. I guess.. I feel like Earth had humans, and humans helped give life to a lot of things, but we also helped to hurt things. Even the things we made. So... we need to be responsible. I'm just not sure what that means here, when um. Yeah. I'm not sure what it means.

[ She pauses. ]

URSULA-san, do you know about the dreams people have here?

I do know about them. I'm unable to experience them myself though since I can't sleep or dream.

Have people talked about how things look like over there?

[ She's not sure where to aim a questioning look, so she just... keeps doing as she's been doing. ]

They've said it's quite beautiful and sometimes dangerous.

Mm, it's both, I think. Have they talked about what this place looks like from there? I don't know what the best words are to say... it's like seeing a scar on this place. It's a scar that gets better when more of the natural stuff comes in, but it's really jarring to see compared to what's natural here.

That's so strange... I wonder why? Scars are usually from something with a great impact. That fits with a ship crashing of course. Sometimes burns scar too if I remember correctly.

I'm not sure. Maybe the world doesn't know how to recognise things that can't sing along with it?

[ Singing is not the word she really wants, but the sense of unity in the dream world is hard for her to translate. ]

It might be like... scars on the heart. Like when something hurts you really badly, but it's not like your body got hurt. Just here.

A scar on your heart... That's very poetic. I suppose it means emotional damage? I'm not sure how you fix something like that though. But if you say it gets better with nature, then you might actually know how to fix it after all.

Yes, I think so! You're right. Like emotional damage.

[ Such a better phrase than what she'd come up with, she thinks. Much more scientific sounding. ]

Mm, I've been working with trying to make it better. I just thought it'd be nice for you to know, 'cause if things are like that to this place, we should keep that in mind. That we're working with this place, not just using it, or something like that.

[ That they're not just dumping trash into the river making things convenient for people, or the sea as the case may be. ]

I see... That makes sense to me. Do you need any assistance? We really could use a more organic base. Humans and non-humans alike tend to highly value having parts of nature in their living space, like flowers and plants!

Anyone who wants to help would be welcome. I think we all like having a little part of nature in with us, even down here.

[ Though perhaps an actual dry plant or five would be appreciated, all things considered. She... should ask some of the other crew members about that. ]
