URSULA is usually available for brief contact. Consider this her inbox. Although she may be busy ICly doing something at the time, she can usually spare some time to answer something.

Alternately, you can link to a thread where she is being called upon. Note that she may ignore these calls or contacts dependent on her mood. Don't worry if she ignores you once or twice, as she will sometimes comment on open posts or make broadcasts to everyone.

If any players wish to contact Naoko and her group, they are free to use this page. They will have to take the three hour trip by air or sea as there is currently no long-range communication in place for them. Yeah. We had some logs left by her, and everything matched the records we got on the Aurora.

[ Naoko covers her face in her hands, cursing under her breath. When her hands fall back to her sides, though, she looks more determined than upset. She can't really show any weakness in front of these kids. ]

That's definitely going to be a problem. ISHMAEL should have come to me the moment she died, so the fact that he hasn't either means that Mimi tweaked his coding and didn't tell anyone, or there's something wrong with him. She was also the only person who knew how he worked. If he went under my jurisdiction, he would still follow my orders, but I wouldn't be able to make any major changes to his programming.

It might be worth mentioning that if the alien didn't kill her, then ISHMAEL could have. She was in the middle of shutting him down when she died.

There actually might be another option besides the two I gave. If there is someone on the planet with a higher rank than me for Programming, ISHMAEL could have gone to them instead. But even if someone like that did show up, the chances of them surviving the descent to the planet on top of surviving the planet itself isn't very high. Sometimes I'm surprised you guys made it this long, but then I remember you can fly.

She didn't give a reason for it in the logs. From what we could see, she developed the same sickness that we did when we visited the Jellyshroom Caves. The one we gave you a treatment for. She expressed missing ISHMAEL a few times in the logs, which might mean he was out of contact with her, too.

[Which doesn't make sense? Even with the possibility of someone with a higher rank that Naoko presented, ISHMAEL should have gone to Mimi Yun first.]

I wanted to give you an answer to the mystery before we came to you with it, but we're at a dead end right now. And the other news is more urgent.

[A beat. Let's not delay on that because that's probably not helpful?]

A ship called the Sunbeam made contact with the Monolith. We're sending a message to them to tell them not to come down here when there's no safe way of landing. Is there anything you wanted to pass on to them?

Right. So just let them know that terraforming this planet may not be a possibility until we find out some way to take that defense mechanism out of commission.

You got it. But the Sunbeam normally just functions as a cargo ship for us, and they don't usually don't go this far out.

Any chance you expect them to have the capabilities to drop some of that cargo down here? Preferably any orange soda they're transporting.

Normally, probably? We're usually equipped for having to do emergency drops if we're delivering to a hostile planet. I can't promise you that the pulse won't shoot it down and destroy whatever's getting sent down though.
