URSULA CONTACT
URSULA is usually available for brief contact. Consider this her inbox. Although she may be busy ICly doing something at the time, she can usually spare some time to answer something.
Alternately, you can link to a thread where she is being called upon. Note that she may ignore these calls or contacts dependent on her mood. Don't worry if she ignores you once or twice, as she will sometimes comment on open posts or make broadcasts to everyone.
Please label the day and time of the contact in the subject header.
For those curious, her voice sounds similar to
this.
If any players wish to contact Naoko and her group, they are free to use this page. They will have to take the three hour trip by air or sea as there is currently no long-range communication in place for them. Please specify in the header that it is Naoko you are trying to reach and not URSULA, in this case, as well as labeling the date you are contacting the group.

[He hopes this is not the part Karkat didn't want to experience.]

That's definitely going to be a problem. ISHMAEL should have come to me the moment she died, so the fact that he hasn't either means that Mimi tweaked his coding and didn't tell anyone, or there's something wrong with him. She was also the only person who knew how he worked. If he went under my jurisdiction, he would still follow my orders, but I wouldn't be able to make any major changes to his programming.

[Not to worry Naoko or anything.]

That's... We haven't had an AI go rogue in decades. It's impossible, there are too many safety checks in place. [ She doesn't sound too convinced though. ] Mimi would never turn him off though. She loved ISHMAEL more than she loved her own family.
There actually might be another option besides the two I gave. If there is someone on the planet with a higher rank than me for Programming, ISHMAEL could have gone to them instead. But even if someone like that did show up, the chances of them surviving the descent to the planet on top of surviving the planet itself isn't very high. Sometimes I'm surprised you guys made it this long, but then I remember you can fly.

[Which doesn't make sense? Even with the possibility of someone with a higher rank that Naoko presented, ISHMAEL should have gone to Mimi Yun first.]
I wanted to give you an answer to the mystery before we came to you with it, but we're at a dead end right now. And the other news is more urgent.
[A beat. Let's not delay on that because that's probably not helpful?]
A ship called the Sunbeam made contact with the Monolith. We're sending a message to them to tell them not to come down here when there's no safe way of landing. Is there anything you wanted to pass on to them?

[ Naoko doesn't seem too enthusiastic though, for whatever reason. ]
Just tell them that our worries about this planet were right.
no subject
The worries that it's alive and will shoot people out of the sky?
no subject
I wonder what they're doing all the way out there though...

[ She's still frowning. ]
Oh well. I guess you'll find out when you talk to them.

Any chance you expect them to have the capabilities to drop some of that cargo down here? Preferably any orange soda they're transporting.
no subject
[ The frown lessens a bit at that. ]
Normally, probably? We're usually equipped for having to do emergency drops if we're delivering to a hostile planet. I can't promise you that the pulse won't shoot it down and destroy whatever's getting sent down though.

[ALSO He uses his shades to lowkey thermal scan the area just to see if Jenn or Mikhail exist?? Karkat asked him to, this is what he has to do.]
Let us know if you could do with other resources from our base. We have a sufficiently large and bizarrely powered group of individuals that we can manage to gather up anything we need, except apparently cheese. [Why has cheesequest been the most difficult quest of them all?]

You've been trying to make -- actually, I'm not even surprised. You know you can make that from plants though, right?
no subject
[So.]

[ She sounds very amused. She's probably going to laugh at them as soon as Dirk is gone. ]

[ Her frown only lasts a seconds before her expression returns to its usual neutral. ] Thanks.
